Donald Springmeyer, our current project manager, and for 20+ years the general manager, has been the driving force behind the Candlewood Shores Tax District that you see today when you come onto the Shores. Don started back in 1985 when the roads were mainly dirt and the water supply was a trickle. The beach was pretty non existent and the ball field was a dumping ground. Since then he has contracted and overseen the widening and paving of 7 plus miles of roads. Laid and repaired miles of water piping. Took old leaves and gave back rich top soil. Kept the roads clear of snow and ice. Has beautified and enriched the properties maintained by the District. Don is now on a lighter schedule and is in charge of numerous large projects:
1. The new septic system has been completed at the admin building.
2. A maintenance garage
3. Drainage for the ballfield and cove property
4. Water mains up CSR and on Twilight by the ballfield
Steve Gies is the new general manager taking on all the day to day maintenance with the crew. Since coming on board at CSTD in July 2005, Steve has completed both courses for system distribution and water treatment, has taken the exams and passed. Along with his other duties as general manager he maintains the water system.
This part of the web site is for the Manager’s to keep the community up to date on projects in the works, completed ones and to give advanced notice of things to come.
